Overview

Mariner Square is a planned 356-unit residential development on Mariner Square Loop in Alameda.

Challenge: On the Estuary side of Alameda, four office buildings occupied a site the City's 2022 Housing Element had designated for housing.
Vision: Replace them with 356 homes, 54 of them affordable, developed in partnership with the landowner as co-GP.
Results: Qualified for by-right review under the Housing Element, and the Alameda Planning Board approved the design in August 2025.
